National Vocational Training (NVQ).
NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety Practice is designed for people actively involved in safety management as part of their job.
There are three levels of NVQ that we provide, each requiring different standards of competence.
• Level 3 is aimed at general health and safety.
• Level 4 is for personnel handling significant hazards and complex risks.
• Level 5 is for those with strategic management responsibility and function.
What are the benefits of NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety?
The standards not only provide the way towards a better understanding of health and safety practices, they are also a benchmark for excellence in this field.
Both employers and practitioners can use these qualifications to improve health and safety practices within their organisations.
By comparing current practices with the standards, planning for improvement at individual and organisational levels and implementing the appropriate policies, they can achieve improved health and safety standards.
In previous training, for example, improvements were seen in organisational image, working conditions and standards, plus staff motivation and morale.
How are NVQs assessed?
1. NVQ qualifications are competence-based and linked to candidates’ ability to perform a range of tasks connected to their work.
2. Units of competence contain the National occupational standards for health and safety.
3. In order to pass, candidates must achieve a level of competence as described in the relevant units.
4. Assessment is undertaken by experienced professionals and who are approved and qualifed assessors.
Our NVQs are tailored to work in harmony with your business.
